The teachers’ instructions, demands, method of interacting with the scholars, and own conformity to the regulations of the classroom and school set up an ethos of habits—a way of conducting oneself inside that institution. From the ethos come the requisite virtues—honesty, cooperation, civility, respect, and so on.
