Before the start of the pandemic, the need for good food has been emphasised for students of all classes. There is a rising challenge of both health and wealth inequality in the UK.

Opinions on UK.collected.reviews show that this sometimes leads to chronic mental health issues. As a pressing issue, there has been a different call to action by both individuals and NGOs in the UK.

However, what is the importance of food to the success of education? How does it connect? There is so much quality food online that many kids cannot afford it. Some now thrive under serious health conditions. Some kids need as the lack of food has caused health issues like malnutrition. What is worse is that their physical health is affected, as much as their mental health. Thus, food is important in the following ways:

1.  To Balance Physical and Mental Health:

Any sick kid or student will always feel uncomfortable. Aside from the physical difference and systemic marginalisation, there will be different mental health conditions that will make him or her feel out of place. Thus, feeding children enhances their concentration and educational abilities. It also facilitates their mental health stability. One important thing steady feeding does is to help kids maintain their confidence and self-esteem.

2.  It Protects Them From Deprivation:

UNICEF (2017) research shows that about 19% of UK kids below age 25 exist with food insecurity. That is, they lack food with equal par as adults. There is also a link between obesity and deprivation. Hunger has deprived kids of adequate learning concentration, as well as the much needed emotional investment into their studies. Feeding these kids will make it much easier to groom them for the near future.

3.  It Encourages their Interest in Academics:

Academic activity isn’t an easy feat. For a student to be more interested in learning, he or she needs food in the stomach. This will grow academic interest and also facilitate the kid’s success level. Aside from motivating the kids to go to school and get engaged with educational activities, food provision must be made to ensure overall wellbeing.

4.  Food Promotes Health:

Although the British Nutrition Foundation has established a guide to nurturing kids, the need to provide adequate food to feed the kids is still primary. Feeding them enhances both health and mental health statuses. Aside from the physical activities that kids are engaged in, adequate feeding is a plus that enhances all-around growth.

5.  Efficient Feeding Helps to Nurture their Dietary Choices:

Kids will gradually grow up to become independent persons. Feeding them with good food from a tender age can serve as a means to groom them. They can be properly groomed to develop a system of healthy feeding. While this will contribute to high nutritional decisions, it will also be of help to the collective health of all British people in the long run.

Through these points, the basic need to feed kids in school are established. One important factor, however, is that free education offered by the government must go hand in hand with free food.
